2N BATXILLERAT ATTENDS LECTURE IN ENGLISH ON DUBBING OR SUBTITLING

On Monday 19th 2n de Batxillerat pupils attended a lecture in English on Dubbing or Subtitling by senior lecturer of the Faculty of Translation of the UPF Patrick Zabalbeascoa.

The lecture proved to be most interesting and quite probably many pupils will have spent a few hours this week in front of their televisions wondering whether the lipsync was appropriate, whether any film scene presented any problems of intertextuality or comparing subtitles in Spanish with the original version texts to check whether the translations were accurate.

Certainly the talk arouse the pupils' curiosity and some of them even dared to put their hands up to ask a few questions!!!
